1993 RX7 FRONT SPEAKER INSTALL

Here is a installed set of MB Quart Discus DSD 213 (5.25 Component set) The depth of the door is very shallow because of the door glass.

 

THIS IS THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE INSTALL. THE PASSENGER SIDE IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT BUT THIS WILL GIVE YOU THE GENERAL IDEA.
 
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL GRILL REMOVE ALL THE PLASTIC GRILL BRACING
     

 
GRIND ALL OF THE GRILL EDGES OFF USE CARDBOARD TO DESIGN A TEMPLATE.

     
THEN USE 1/4 INCH MDF TO MAKE THE MOUNT

 
MAKE SURE YOU SPACE OUT BOTH SPEAKER COMPONENTS REMOVE ONE OF THE GRILL HOLDERS

      
 

 
BEND THE TAB IN A "L" SHAPE (90 DEGREE) FOLLOW THE PICTURE AND REINSTALL IT (FOR SUPPORT)

       
 

 
INSTALL THE SPEAKERS AS SHOWN DRILL A HOLE THAT LINES UP WITH GRILL TAB MOUNTS (see picture below for tab mount)

        
 

 
THIS IS THE GRILL TAB MOUNT THAT YOU WILL USE use a 1 inch screw to secure the grill to the speaker mount

USE A HOT GLUE GUN TO SEAL AND SECURE THE SPEAKERS ITS ALL DONE AND YOU STILL HAVE THE STOCK LOOK!
